Thomas Gibson played Aaron Hotchner, or Hotch, on Criminal Minds from 2005 to 2016 when he was terminated due to a physical altercation with writer-producer Virgil Williams. Despite his suspension and firing, Gibson expressed his love for the show and his gratitude towards the crew and fans.

He also recounted his side of the story, claiming Williams started a fight over a line contradiction and brushed past him before they exchanged words. Before Criminal Minds, Gibson had significant roles in TV series Dharma & Greg and Chicago Hope. After his termination, Gibson struggled to find major acting roles on screen.

He landed only one leading role in the action adventure thriller film Shadow Wolves.
